Garrett and Alexandra's camp site in the Seven Islands area of the St. John.

Thanks to Albro Coperthwaite of Northe and (far left) and Billy Barker of Presque Isle (2nd from left) for bringing a Satellite Phone charger in to Garret and Alexandra so they could continue their trail reports.

Thanks Guys!

Here's what happens when it gets too warm. Standing water collects on top of glare ice on the St. John.

Garrett travels along an ice-shelf on the St. John.

This Coyote circled the Conovers, trying to figure out what they were. Once it got downwind and caught their scent - it left quite quickly.

It's Mardi Gras! Because of the rain, Garrett and Alexandra spent the day doing laundry and waiting for it to get cold. They also celebrated Mardi Gras. Garrett's got some beads, but what did he do to get them????

Garrett and Alexandra lashed the two toboggans together to make them more stable as the travelled over rough ice. Luckily, it was near the end of the trip so the toboggans weren't as heavy as they could have been.

In Allagash, Garrett and Alexandra teach some school kids about safely travelling on the river ice.

The river near Allagash was nearly impassable. After reaching Allagash, Garrett and Zach Davis, an intern from the College of the Atlantic, explored the ice-jams.

How would you like to try to pull a toboggan through this sort of ice?
