Home Again!

Garrett and Alexandra are home safe and sound. They were spotted in Dover-Foxcroft today attempting to acclimatize to the world of stop lights and gas stations. All the trail reports are still available here.

For those who might not be familiar with the project, On February 12, 2005,Winterwalk for the Wilds 2005 concluded in Allagash Village, having traversed Moosehead Lake, Seboomook, the North Branch of the Penobscot, and the upper 130 miles of the St. John River. Starting January 14, of this year, Alexandra and Garrett Conover returned to Allagash Village to pick up the winter trail again. To close the loop they ascended the Allagash River, a portion of the West Branch of the Penobscot, and finally traveled the long reach of Moosehead to Greenville. They arrived in Greenville on February 11, in time for welcoming ceremonies, another tent village "open house", and a concluding Mukluk and Snowshoe Ball provided by contra dance musicians and a caller. The trip retraced a route, which was undertaken the winter following the original Honeymoon journey, creating a loop of nearly 400 miles.

Where are they today?
